double-pulse resolution

DPR, pulse-pair resolution, multiple-hit dead time
The double pulse resolution of a TDC describes the minimum possible time difference between two events on the same input channel. If two hits arrive at the same channel or stop input of a multihit TDC within the time interval of its double-pulse resolution, the second edge is not reliably recognized as a hit.
The double pulse resolution is a practical measure of the dead time of TDCs and is related to the input frequency or, more precisely, its reciprocal value.
